Yahoo News reports that Nick Xenophon, an Independent senator for South Australia, has criticized Sky Racing TV, Sky Channel's home-pay television service, and said it censored anti-gambling advertisements directed at parents.
“Clearly they're embarrassed by (the advertisements), but it's not up to them to knock back these ads,” Mr. Xenophon was quoted as saying.
According to Yahoo, the ads were aimed at keeping children away from poker machines.
“This is the perfect audience to get the message across about kids and pokies not mixing, and really the next step is to see whether there are any regulatory steps that can be taken,” Mr. Xenophon said.
