Record Turnover at Belgian Casinos

20 August 2008

Belgium’s nine casinos reported record turnover in 2007 of 115 million euros, according to financial daily De Tijd.

The annual turnover rose 15 million euros and coincided with the opening of a new casino in Brussels.

According to the paper, Marc Callu of the Gaming Commission said the figures prove that casinos can be profitable even with Belgium's strict gambling laws.
