Alphameric Plc., a provider of solutions for the leisure and hospitality sectors, said today a ruling is expected soon in the case against Amalgamated Racing Ltd., its joint venture company with Racecourse Media Services Ltd.
Bookmakers such as Ladbrokes Plc. and William Hill Plc. initiated legal action in September 2007 in opposition to Amalgamated, claiming that the exclusive licensing of digital rights for the broadcast of horseracing events through Turf TV violated the U.K. Competition Act.
Alphameric said a judgment will be announced on Aug. 8 at 10 a.m.
