Russia Launches First Nationwide State-Run Lottery

According to RIA Novosti, a Moscow-based press agency, Russia launched its first federal lottery on Wednesday.

During the next five years, the state-run lottery is expected to bring in $1.1 billion in revenue, or 30 billion rubles. This money, according to the agency, will be used to fund the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.
