Flexible Frank Fahrenkopf Jr., the highly paid president and CEO of the American Gaming Association, apparently has a script for every country he visits. Frank is in Australia currently, and he talked to the press yesterday about the Internet. He has been a supporter of the Kyl bill in this country, but in Sydney he had this to say:
"The Internet has become such an important part of every country, of world commerce, and Australia
is at the cutting edge and that's what everyone is going to be looking at. I can clearly say that the eyes of the world are on Australia."
It's always nice to tell your hosts they are world leaders, but given the AGA's stand on Internet wagering that makes us the world's trailers. Fahrenkopf said in Sydney that the AGA would continue to oppose gambling on the Internet here until the technology was available to regulate and police it.
If Australia is the world leader, Frank, why not just look around and bring some of their regulation techniques and technology back when you head home?
