Starnet Connects to NASRIN Network

10 February 1999

Starnet Communications International Inc. is going online this week with a connection to the North American Simulcast Racing Information Network (NASRINTM), a system that links racetracks and off-track betting facilities using AT&T's international frame relay backbone.

The NASRIN connection provides Starnet with low cost, real-time access to live odds data from racetracks throughout North America. Odds are updated every few seconds for each race and transmitted across the NASRIN network for customers' review and use.

The high-speed, private network for the racing industry was implemented and is managed by Autotote Communication Services Inc., which provides wagering equipment, computer software, facilities management and satellite broadcast services for on-track, off-track and inter-track wagering, lotteries, and legalized sports betting facilities. Autotote's systems are in use in the United States, Europe, Canada, Mexico, Latin America, New Zealand and the Far East.

"We are delighted with our connection to the NASRIN network," said Starnet Director of Pari-Mutuel Operations Paul Nyzuk. "It provides Starnet with secure, efficient, reliable, and cost effective telecommunications links to our Racetrack partners."

"Autotote is eager to expand NASRIN functionality beyond the daily transmission of simulcast wagering data," said Mark Sillcox, president of Autotote Communication Service, Inc. "Starnet provides an ideal partner to help us launch the next development phase of enhancing our network so that it may serve a multitude of the racing industry's communications needs."

World Gaming will soon be launching (www.worldracetracks.com) using its market-leading Internet technology.
