Starnet Gets Busy Again

4 May 2000
After a long absence of new software deals, Starnet Communications International has announced the signing of three new licensees: Star Media Entertainment Inc., Yeteck Entertainment Inc., and Internet Empire Entertainment Ltd., all of Antigua. The three groups are Starnet's first licensees brought in under the company's stringent new licensing requirements.

"All new licensees must demonstrate a viable business plan, qualified management, and significant marketing resources," explained Ed Starrs, president of Starnet Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary. The new licensees reflect the company's international thrust, he added.

Star Media specializes in the Asian market, while Yeteck has worked extensively with multi-language clients, and Internet Empire brings international Internet marketing and website development experience.

"Over the past several months we have executed on our strategic growth plan in consistent and deliberate fashion, setting the stage for an exciting year," said CEO Meldon Ellis. As part of this corporate wide change, Starnet has undergone massive restructuring, added new management, and hired 35 new software programmers.

"The result is Starnet 2000, our new suite of revolutionary I-gaming products with unparalleled, state-of-the-art features that will make Starnet the clear choice for prospective licensees, whether they be land-based operators, major Internet organizations, or governments," Ellis explained.

Ellis hinted at even more changes, saying that "industry consolidation is imminent, favoring the largest and strongest players like Starnet."

Additionally, the Antigua-based gaming software developer is talking with leading Internet gaming companies around the world, according to Ellis, "seeking to add products and services that would create strong synergies and enable us to become the first Internet gaming company with a truly global presence."
