Starnet Gets Fuzzy

11 May 1999
Ya didn't think you'd see golf legend Fuzzy Zoeller forming any marketing partnerships anytime soon didja?

Wrong!

Starnet's strategic partner, ISM Marketing Corp. has signed a deal with the legendary--but controversial--pro golfer.

Starnet declined to comment on the specifics of the relationship, but Zoeller said in a news release issued by Starnet, "I am really excited about taking my involvement with the Internet community to another level with exciting features like live Internet simulcast from my Wolf Challenge Golf Tournament and play for fun games. People will have the opportunity to win packages of Fuzzy's personal recipe barbeque sauces and win a round of golf with me."

"This strategic partnership with Starnet has allowed us to work with our network group to find alliances and to create opportunities for cross promotion on the Internet," ISM Holding Corp. President Gary D. Sallee. "Our decision to join with Starnet was made on the basis of its professional management and technical expertise, which we feel is the best in the business."

So, is there a "Fuzzy Zoeller" Internet casino in store for the future? And if so, will they be taking bets on what'll be served at next year's Masters dinner?

We'll keep you posted.

Meanwhile, Starnet continues its aggressive pursuit of licensees for its Softec Systems Internet gaming software. The company announced May 7 that it has licensed its turn-key Internet gaming technology to Umax Investments Inc. and Delta Internet Holdings Inc. Both companies will be supplied with a customized, full-service Internet gaming system, including virtual casino games, a sportsbook with real-time odds feed from Las Vegas and Europe, and simulcast horse and dog racing (no wagers taken at this time). The locations of the websites where the new licensees will operate will be announced closer to their launching.

And finally, Casinopirata.com Inc., the operator of a theme-based online casino and sportsbook located at http://www.casinopirata.com, reported that it has entered into negotiations with Starnet to acquire an online casino. "This acquisition is in line with our business plan objectives," explained Casinopirata.com President Paul Stringer. "Casinopirata.com intends to grow by opening additional online casinos and acquiring proprietary online gaming technology."
