Study Finds Horse Tracks, Casinos Profitable Pair

A study investigating the impact of slot machine revenue on at an Iowa horse track found that when there's live racing, the slot machine wagers go up 13 percent, Radio Iowa reported.

Conducted by Richard Thalheimer, a Kentucky consultant, for the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission, the study also found that the impact was $123 million and 2,200 full-time jobs.
