Survey Says Asian Gaming Revenue Shall Surpass US

A survey of 23 gambling industry executives, analysts and academics polled by the American Gaming Association indicates that most of the respondents expect Asia's gaming industry to surpass that of the U.S. in terms of revenue by 2012.

18 of the respondents said Asia's surpassing the U.S. was very likely or likely.

"The results... foretell a remarkable future for the Asian gaming market," said Frank Fahrenkopf, president and CEO of the American Gaming Association. "There is no doubt this is an exciting time in Asia for the gaming industry.

A majority of the survey's respondents expect Macau to remain the market leader in Asia.
