(PRESS RELEASE) -- For the third year in a row, the Swedish Gaming Authority (Spelinspektionen) carried out a survey on Swedes' online gambling habits. Almost 4,000 people over the age of 18 responded to the survey conducted in May 2023.
The survey shows, among other things, that:
- 14 percent have played online at least once a week
- 31 percent play online at least once a quarter.
- The most common forms of gambling online are lotteries and number games
- 38 percent play on the trot, which is slightly more than last year
- Betting on sports (not trotting) has decreased in recent years, this year 22 percent
- 11 percent know about and have used Spelpaus.se, which is slightly more than the previous survey. A total of 86 percent say they know Spelpaus.se.
- 6 percent have intentionally played on a site that does not have a Swedish gaming license in the last three months, while 4 percent have played without intention on a site that does not have a Swedish gaming license.
