18 August 2008

Tabcorp Holdings, the Australian bookmaker, is looking northward for bigger profits as it finalizes its expansion to the area.

According to Northern Territory News, bookies in the Northern Territory will make an estimated $5 billion Australian dollars this year, and Tabcorp wants to be part of the action as it moves into Darwin, the territory’s capital city.

Robert Nason, managing director of wagering at Tabcorp, told The Sydney Morning Herald on Wednesday that the time has come for the company to expand where tax conditions are more favorable.
