Astro Corporation, a Taiwanese arcade and casino gaming machine developer, has been granted official certification in Italy for its amusement-with-prize gaming machines, reports DigiTimes, a Taiwan-based daily newspaper.
New regulations on casino operations and machines created by Italy’s government requires all machines meet the requirements by 2009, which means an estimated 280,000 units will need to be replaced.
With Astro’s certification, the company sees it as bringing “many business opportunities” in the coming months, according to DigiTimes.
