The long-awaited results of a study into poker machines in Tasmania have finally reached the desks at the state government, but it will not be released to the public until it is reviewed by proper authorities.
The study, which looked into the social and economic impacts of gambling, was commissioned two years ago when the state agreed to grant Betfair a betting license.
The report must be reviewed by the Treasury before it is handed over to Michael Aird, Tasmania's treasurer, according the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, or ABC.
Mr. Aird then has 20 parliamentary days to review the report, which could delay the release until November or December, the news service said.
