Interactive Gaming News reported in August the introduction of "The Global Draw," a fixed odds numbers game in which players can select up to five correct numbers from the six drawn from a choice of forty-nine. The product was launched successfully this week at a record attendance Betting Shop Show in London on September 8.
According to the product's creator, Walter Grubmuller, the launching was a huge success. "If you have confidence in the product and back it up with the best technology, you will have a success on your hands," Grubmuller said. "We had inquiries from Europe, the Far East and America for our satellite delivered service. Major distribution and agency agreements are already under negotiation, which will make the product truly global'"
The influential Racing Post newspaper reported, "as the Draw was introduced to the show, a second variant was launched called Quick Draw, an even faster fixed-odds game taking place every 10 seconds at a touch screen terminal."
Dr Barry Stapley, technical director, reported that for numbers betting to be a success, the game (or games) must change and develop. "Which is why we introduced Quick Draw and why we already have exciting new games to enhance and replace them as the market matures."
The Global Draw is delivered by satellite and makes a draw every five minutes. From a choice of 49 numbers, six are selected at random. Players can pick up to five numbers in a variety of combinations and types of bet to fixed-odds. Bets can be placed at self-service terminals or over-the-counter using mark-sense, lottery style cards.
