The Italian List

14 March 2006

A new policy in Italy requires the country's Internet service providers to block access to nearly 700 recognized online gambling sites. In case you were curious as to specifically which sites made the list, IGN has obtained a copy.

The Finance Act 2006, which includes a section (Section 66) requiring Italian ISPs to block access to all gambling Web sites not authorized by the government, went into effect Feb. 24. Upon implementation of the law, Italy's Amministrazione Autonoma Dei Monopoli di Stato (Independent Administration of State Monopolies) specified 684 online gambling sites to be blocked.
