The New IGC Code

9 February 2006

The Interactive Gaming Council (IGC) has revised its Advertising Code of Practice.

Meant to serve as a means of self-regulation for the online gambling industry, the Advertising Code of Practice aims to ensure that IGC members' advertisements are legal, decent and truthful. In addition to guidelines on the content and nature of all forms of advertising, the Code of Practice also contains a list of certain types of information that should be made readily accessible on online gambling websites, including contact information, licensing information and more. A serious breach of the code could affect the status of membership in the IGC.
