(PRESS RELEASE) -- The government decided on 29 August that the Swedish Gambling Inspectorate should be able to set requirements on the content of the license holders' action plans to counter excessive gambling. This means a tightening of the work against gambling problems and strengthens the protection for consumers.
According to the Gambling Act, a gambling license holder must have an action plan for how they will carry out their duty of care towards the players. The action plan is central in the work with the duty of care because the license holders determine their routines based on it.
The regulation change will enter into force on 1 October 2024.
