Turkey to Begin Lottery Privatization

According to Hürriyet, a Turkish newspaper, The Anatolian Agency has reported that Turkey will begin the privatization of its national lottery administration.

Interested companies will be asked to apply for pre-qualification by Jan. 15, 2009, and bids to the Privatization Administration Board can be submitted until Feb. 27, 2009.

Hürriyet reports the interested companies to include Lottomatica S.p.A.; Essnet-Tattersall; Scientific Games Corporation; Camelot; OPAP S.A.; Intralot S.A.; Turkey's Koc Holding; Austrian Lotteries; Sisal S.p.A.; Dogus Group; Alarko Holding A.S.; and Cukurova Holding.
