TVG and Source Market Fees

12 July 1999
A report in yesterday's on-line Thorougbred Times said that Television Games Network (TVG) and the National Thoroughbred Racing Assn. (NTRA) have agreed on a "memo of understanding" that would prevent any racetrack not a member of the NTRA from collecting source market fees on wagering conducted through TVG.

According to the Times, the memo states that "Thoroughbred tracks must have a contract with TVG and the tracks must also have a 'shared requirement' to belong to the NTRA in order to receive the fees." Mark Wilson, TVG president and CEO, said that no such restriction applies to harness or greyhound race track source market fees.
