Two Cyber Casinos Arrive, Four on the Way

17 June 1999
It's been a big week for new faces and places on the Internet gaming scene. Software developers Starnet Communications and Chartwell Technologies each introduced two new licensees while cyber casino operator Tropika International launched two new casinos.

For Starnet, the accumulation of a couple of new licensees makes it a typical week. The latest to join the Vancouver-based gaming software developer's ever growing list of licensees are Jewel Holdings Ltd. and Universe Investments Inc. Both will be provided with customized versions of Starnet's Softec software system.

Meanwhile Chartwell Technology Inc. has signed a pair of new licensees as well, bringing its total number of licensees to seven. Servicios De Computo Sudamericanos S.A. (Majestic International) and Eldorado Limited will both operate casinos powered by Chartwell's Java-based CasinoCasino gaming software.

Tropika International Limited, an operator of online casinos using MicroGaming software, recently added two sites to its list of themed cyber casinos: Casino Old Glory and Aztec Gold Casino. Each has its own special character. Old Glory salutes America with a marriage of classic American icons, from astronauts to Uncle Sam. Aztec Gold brings to the Internet the lost gold and stone temples of the ancient Aztecs, creating a "lost city" theme. The new casinos offer a new and expanded suite of 21 games, including blackjack, roulette, baccarat, bingo, keno, three video poker choices, craps and eleven slot games. The company plans to launch two more themed cyber casinos within the next month.
