British ministers plan to impose a statutory levy for April 2009 that would raise funds for problem gamblers, reports the Financial Times.
The levy will be imposed unless gambling operators come up with another way to provide £19 million, or $32.6 million, during the next three years to pay for programs for education and research benefiting problem gamblers.
