U.K. Gaming Stocks a Sure Bet?

According to a Bloomberg report, Dresdner Kleinwort analysts are saying that William Hill, Ladbrokes and Rank Group might be “the most resistant” to the United Kingdom’s economic slowdown.

Lately gaming companies have seen stocks rise. Andrew P. Lee, a Dresdner Kleinwort analyst, noted that companies like these were safe havens of stability during the last weak period during the early ‘90s.

“It's in people's mindset and human nature to gamble,“ Mr. Lee told the news service. “When things get tough, frankly they don't change that habit -- it's part of their staple diet.“
