The United Kingdom’s Department for Culture, Media and Sport has confirmed plans to increase the payout amount, Reuters reported on Tuesday.
According to the news agency, Gerry Sutcliffe, minister for sports and tourism, said he would propose that the machine-stake limit should be raised from 50 pence to 70 pence and prize limits from £50 to £70.
This initial increase was first announced in the beginning of January. According to The London Times, Andy Burnham, the United Kingdom’s culture secretary, agreed to the increases due to the difficult trading conditions for operators in the turbulent economic state.
