U.K. Machine Wagering, Payout Allowance Doubled

5 January 2009

Maximum payout in gambling machines across the United Kingdom has been doubled, The Telegraph reported on Monday.

According to The London Times, Andy Burnham, the United Kingdom’s culture secretary, agreed to the increases due to the difficult trading conditions for operators in the tumultuous economic climate.

Maximum payout has increased from £35 to £70 and stakes from 50 pence to £1, which could grow machine earnings by 20 percent, said The Telegraph.
