U.S. Election Results Change Casino Plans and Policies

5 November 2008

Last night’s United States election brought a change to casino policies in one state and squelched plans for future gambling opportunities in another two.

In Missouri, 56 percent were in favor of repealing a $500 loss limit at riverboat casinos in order to fund education measures. Western Maine won’t see a $184 million casino and resort, which was voted down yesterday.

Additionally, Ohio voters opted to not allow a $600 million casino facility the southwestern part of the state.
