The UK government said today that it will not remove VAT on bingo clubs.
The Government believes that tax issues are "not at the root of the bingo industry's problems."
Two days ago DCMS Secretary Gerry Sutcliffe said he was considering helping the industry by increasing the number of large jackpots machines in each club. He said he would issue a statement to the House of Commons in the new few weeks.
