Ukash, which allows consumers to buy goods and services via prepaid vouchers, has extended its reach into France through Central Telecom Tonéo cards, the company said on Tuesday.
“We are seeing a growth in international demand for Ukash as more and more consumers are opting for a way to pay online using cash,” said Mark Chirnside, chief executive of Ukash, in a statement.
According to Ukash, Tonéo cards are sold at 15,000 locations across France -- a number the company expects will double soon.
“Our partnership with Ukash is an ambitious project for both companies,” said Fabien Gerbi, managing director of Central Telecom, in a prepared statement. “But who will benefit the most is the French consumer.”
