The United States dismissed today suggestions that it should have to pay US$100 billion to the European Union (EU) and other members of the World Trade Organization (WTO) for closing its borders last year to online gambling companies.
An unnamed trade spokesperson told Reuters that offers had been made, but she could not reveal what they were.
"We can say that some of the numbers being put forward are based on faulty and exaggerated assumptions," she said.
The U.S.' response comes after online gambling and trade representatives on Wednesday urged the EU to ask for the $100 billion in compensation.
