The $40 million renovation of Hasting Racecourse -- featuring a 42,000-square-foot casino -- will open to the public Friday, Aug. 15, The Vancouver Sun reports.
According to Howard Blank, a representative from Great Canadian Gaming, the temporary casino in the same location has done well since its opening last November.
The current 150-slot casino will close for Friday’s opening of the 600-slot casino, which will also feature live and video-feed horse racing, live entertainment and dining services.
"We've been working on this for so many years that it's nice to finally see it come to fruition," Blank told the newspaper.
