Vegas Strip Winnings Reach Five-Year Low

Gaming win in Nevada declined by 14.8 percent, year on year, in November, according to the state’s Gaming Control Board.

The numbers released on Friday show that gaming win sunk to $836.7 million from $982.1 million. The Las Vegas Strip gaming win alone went from $521.1 million to $437.6 million -- a 16 percent drop.

The Las Vegas Sun reported that it was the 11th straight month of lower gaming wins on the Strip, and the lowest since November 2004. In the fiscal year to date, winnings dropped by 14.2 percent, according to the board.

State-wide gaming win for the fiscal year to date dipped to $4.6 billion from $5.3 billion the year before -- a 12.9 percent decline.
