Venetian Macau has appointed Dr. Luis Nuno Mesquita de Melo as managing director of the company, subject to approval by the Macau Special Administration Region's government.
Dr. Melo is a Portuguese national and resident of Macau who joined Venetian Macau as associate general counsel in 2005. He has 21 years of legal experience in Portugal and Macau.
Macau's law dictates that the managing director of a casino operator must be someone who has resided in Macau for more than seven years and must hold more than ten percent of the company's capital.
