VfB Stuttgart Can Carry bwin Adverts, Stuttgart Court Rules

31 August 2007

The administrative court in Stuttgart has ruled against an earlier decision handed down by the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg's administrative court that had prohibited football club VfB Stuttgart (VfB) from donning bwin-branded apparel.

Thomson Financial reports that, according to a prepared statement released by the court, VfB can "tentatively" carry advertisements from bwin.

The report added however that the case has yet to be "conclusively resolved," as the Stuttgart court's ruling can be challenged within the next two weeks.

On news of the ruling, shares in Vienna-listed bwin were up 4.38 percent to 19.05 euros.
