With AsianLogic’s Asian Poker Tour heading to Macau at the end of the month, there’s speculation that Vietnam might take the top prize this year.
“The way the Vietnamese play poker is really impressive,” said Chris Parker, chief executive of Asian Poker Tour, in a prepared statement. “The heavy amount of skill, patience and intelligence that poker requires compared to normal gambling and casino activities really seems to suit the Vietnamese temperament. It is no wonder that Vietnamese contingent of players are expected to pick up hundreds of thousands of dollars in Macau.”
The tournament begins on Aug. 27 with a guaranteed prize pool of $1.5 million.
