WPT to Launch Mobile Poker

2 August 2006

World Poker Tour Enterprises Inc. and corroborant 3G-Scene LLC on Tuesday announced plans to launch real-money, live multi-player poker, designed for play on select mobile carriers in the United Kingdom.

The companies' collaborative effort yielded a Texas Hold'em multi-player game, in which participants, using their mobile phones, make live wagers with real money against other players also on those carriers.

CEO Steven Lipscomb hopes the partnership with 3G-Scene will strengthen WPT's growing presence abroad.

"We chose 3G-Scene as our partner of choice to help us provide WPTE's international fan base a compelling real-money poker product that complements our already strong position in the global mobile marketplace," Lipscomb said, adding, "We see this initial venture as the entree to what we hope will be a vast mobile market."

Peter Karsten, CEO of 3G-Scene, mirrored Lipscomb's observations.

"This partnership will enable us to maximize our reach when bringing our unique real-money casino and poker gambling solutions to the global market," Karsten said.
