WWWagering Submits Views to Aussie Government

31 August 2000
While the debate over a 12-month moratorium on new interactive gaming licenses in Australia gains momentum, the federal government has been accepting submissions for its own examination of the topic. One such submission came from World Wide Wagering & Gaming Consultants, which IGN has obtained.

"The submission attempts to discuss positive social attributes available by Internet type gaming (centralized accounts) albeit distributed customers," explained WWWager's Alan Pedley. "Additionally, the previous Productivity Commission and Senate Select Committee on Information reports are cited in a factual manner rather than by vague reference to problem gambling and concluding a link to Internet-based gambling which seems to date been the folly of the politicians."
