If you're having trouble keeping them separated in your mind, it's understandable. We have, of course, TVG, The Racing Network, Youbet.com, American Digital Communications (which just announced a non-exclusive pact to broadcast Meadowlands racing on its TrackPower network), Starnet, and now NetBet, which describes itself as a designer, developer and promoter of interactive software-based games of chance.
So far NetBet has been interested only in casino games, but the company announced February 17 that it has signed a letter of intent with Atlanta-based Internet Gaming, which has developed proprietary Internet gaming software that allows customers to play using telephone debit cards. According to the announcement, Internet Gaming's technology permits customers to access the gaming system using a telephone, if they don't have access to a computer, or via the Internet, and retrieve their winnings from any ATM machine. NetBet says its telephone technology "expands the potential gaming customer base from 100 million Internet users to over three billion phone users worldwide."
