Ladbroke Golden Gate Fields, home of the famous Golden Gate Handicap, offers 61 days of spring racing in sunny California. The You Bet Racing Network, based in LA, is America's first interactive horseracing service, and is offered on an exclusive private network.

When Yankelovich Partners conducted a survey of the 4.8 million U.S. horse players, they found that the You Bet Racing Network appeal is strongest among simulcast (31.6% definite), and telephone (31.8% definite) bettors, with only average appeal among those attending live races (19.8% definite).

The You Bet Racing Network is currently in Limited Release on an exclusive private network to a select group of online racing enthusiasts who are assisting You Bet in researching system and consumer behavior. Public release of the You Bet Racing Network, offering a variety of worldwide thoroughbred and standardbred content, including racing at Ladbroke Golden Gate Fields is scheduled for spring 1998.

Ladbroke Golden Gate Fields opens its 1998 spring meeting April 1, and the track will continue to offer the bargain admission prices it introduced at the 1997-98 fall-winter session. The 61-day spring season runs through Sunday, June 21, and the standard racing week is Wednesday through Sunday. The Grade III $250,000 Golden Gate handicap, a 1 3/8 mile turf event for 3-year-olds and up, highlights the stakes program at the spring stand.
