LOS ANGELES -- You Bet!, Inc. (OTC BB: UBET) and Remington Park racetrack have agreed to offer interactive online wagering and to broadcast thoroughbred horseracing to members of the You Bet Network.
In its 10th year of racing, Remington Park is a major tourist attraction in Oklahoma. It's owned by the Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation, which also owns Louisiana Downs, home of the Grade I Super Derby; Thistledown, home of the Grade II Ohio Derby; and the five-time Super Bowl champion San Francisco 49ers.
"The DeBartolo organization has been a positive influence on the racing industry and we are proud to have this relationship with them," said You Bet!, Inc. Executive Vice President, Racing, Steve Molnar.
You Bet is America's first interactive online horseracing service to enter the market. It provides members the ability to watch and wager on a wide selection of coast-to-coast thoroughbred and standard-bred horseracing, via its exclusive closed-loop interactive network. Members have total access to the network's features, including live audio/video, up-to-the-minute track information, real-time wagering information, and value-added handicapping products.
Since launching its service in February 1998, the company has broadcast races from Oaklawn Park (AR), Fair Grounds (LA), Sportsman's Park (IL), Hialeah Park (FL), Golden Gate Fields (CA), Detroit Race Course (MI), Rockingham Park (NH), The Meadowlands (NJ), Monmouth Park (NJ), Evangeline Downs (LA), Ladbroke at the Meadows (PA) and Louisiana Downs (LA).
The 1998 Remington Park thoroughbred racing season offers 96 days of racing from July 3 to November 29 and year-round simulcast racing. The season is highlighted by a number of key mid-south stakes, including the $150,000 Aksarben Handicap for older horses and the $300,000 Remington Park Derby.
