Youbet.com, Inc. and Maryland Jockey Club have reached a non-exclusive agreement to offer live online horseracing and wagering on all races from Laurel Park (MD) and Pimlico Race Course (MD).
The Maryland Jockey Club, the nation's oldest sporting organization, is the parent company of both Pimlico and Laurel Park. On May 15, 1999 the You Bet Network will offer account wagering on the Preakness, the $1 million (Grade I) stakes race, and the 2nd leg of the Triple Crown, run at Pimlico.
"We believe Youbet.com is a critical component of the racing industry's goal to reach new fans," said Maryland Jockey Club CEO and President, Joseph A. DeFrancis. "We look forward to validating the positive impact of Youbet.com and will work with them to determine the impact on our local market."
