Youbet.com announced this week that it will carry the Breeders' Cup Meet online when it takes place November 5-7 at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale, Florida. The network will also offer a $250,000 handicapping contest.
"This relationship between the Breeders' Cup and Youbet will create online awareness and synergy for the cyber fan," Breeders' Cup Simulcasting Director Ken Kirchner said. "I believe this concept will
provide greater awareness for the Championship and offer racing fans an additional outlet to enjoy the races."
In addition, Youbet.com will offer the Youbet $250,000 Breeders' Cup Challenge, a weekly handicapping contest that will culminate in the Breeders' Cup grand prize going to the handicapper with the largest return on investment and highest winnings over the course of the competition.
"We are offering weekly prizes as well as grand prizes at the end of the event, $60,000 for first place, $30,000 for second place and $10,000 for third place," Youbet.com CEO Robert Fell said. Participation in the Youbet $250,000 Breeders' Cup Challenge or wagering online at the Breeders' Cup is available only to Youbet subscribers who have an account with Ladbroke, Youbet's licensed account wagering provider.
