Online Gaming in Cambodia

Online gaming companies were, for several years, licensed to operate out of Cambodian casinos (especially in Sihanoukville) targeting foreign players, but this policy has been completely reversed.

In May 2016, Cambodian telecom firm CooTel introduced an online lottery known as KhmerLottery.

In November 2016, three L.Y.P. Group casinos were granted permission to begin online gambling operations.

In October 2020, Cambodia’s parliament passed a gambling bill that contained a range of provisions designed to tighten the government's control over the industry as parts of Cambodia became a hot spot for Chinese online gambling operations.
