A New Authority in Gaming: The Antiguan Initiative (21 September 2000)
The country of Antigua's betting and gaming regulations adhere to a law that was enacted in 1963. It's a drastically different world 27 years later, and gaming regulators there are now seeking to amend the legislation to bring it up to date. The Antiguan Parliament will soon take up a bill that calls for a new body specifically regulating gaming in the country. Policies regarding virtual sports wagering and casino gambling will be among those affected by the new regulations. Gary Collins, chairman of the Betting and Gaming Committee of Antigua and Barbuda, explains.
