Gold Circle is part of a multi-faceted and integrated industry, organizing thoroughbred horseracing events throughout KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape. Its operating assets include several racecourses in Cape Town, Durban and Pietermaritzburg; world-class thoroughbred training centres in both provinces, as well as a network of 68 company-owned betting outlets and 119 independantly-owned outlets. Ina addition, it also offers fixed odds betting through a subsidiary, Betting World. As a licenced gaming operator Gold Circle is regulated by the KwaZulu-Natal Directorate for Gaming under the Racing and Betting Ordinance of 1957 and by the Western Province Gambling and Racing Law 1996. Horseracing staged by Gold Circle is conducted under the rules of the National Horseracing Authority of South Africa. Gold Circle supports the National Responsible Gambling Programme.
