Online Gaming in Guatemala

Guatemala still has no dedicated online gambling law. Article 477 of the Penal Code formally prohibits gambling, but enforcement is inconsistent and many Guatemalans access offshore betting and casino sites without interference. Attempts to create a clear iGaming regime have stalled, although policymakers are again evaluating regulation to capture tax revenue and address money laundering.
