Online Gaming in New Hampshire

Online gambling is not regulated in New Hampshire, with the exception of subscriptions to lottery games, which residents of the state can obtain.

In July 2010, there was an effort to build an online lottery games site called PlayNowNH.com. The website was going to offer instant-win ticket holders the option of viewing the results of their purchases via the internet and lottery games that played like slot machines. However, just days before the release, the New Hampshire State Lottery Commission decided to postpone the launch, amid criticism from key lawmakers and public officials. There were also doubts regarding the game's efficacy as a means for economic relief. By the end of the summer, the Lottery canceled the launch, deciding instead to redirect funds in favor of promoting existing products.

In July 2017, Gov. Chris Sununu signed into law H 580, a bill that regulates and legalizes daily fantasy sports. The New Hampshire lottery commission will oversee the industry. There is no fee or tax for operators who register with the state.

In September 2018, the New Hampshire Lottery introduced iLottery, an online platform for playing New Hampshire Lottery games. Players can choose from a menu of games, including draw games, Powerball and Mega Millions, and eight e-Instant games. Online e-Instant games offer different games than traditional scratch games sold in stores.
