Online Gaming in Ohio

Sports betting launched in Ohio on January 1, 2023 through licensed operators of online sportsbooks and brick-and-mortar establishments, but online casinos remain illegal.

Online casino gaming remains illegal in Ohio. Two bills were introduced in the 2025 legislative session to create an iGaming framework: SB 197 (introduced May 13, 2025, by Sen. Nathan Manning) and HB 298 (introduced around the same time by Reps. Brian Stewart and Marilyn John).
