Online Gaming in Rhode Island

In June 2023, Governor Dan McKee signed Senate Bill 948 into law today, thereby extending Bally's exclusive control over land-based casinos to include iGaming operations, which launched in March 2024. The law imposes a 50% tax on online slot revenue with the remainder divided between Bally’s and IGT. Meanwhile table games are to face a lesser 18% revenue tax.

According to a 4 February 2016 statement issued by the office of Attorney General Peter Kilmartin, daily fantasy sports are legal under state law. The statement suggested a formal law be put in place, and in March 2017, H 5793 was introduced.
