Online Gaming in Washington

In January 2015, a bill that proposed the legalization of online poker in the state of Washington was introduced in the state House of Representatives. But by February 2015, that bill was officially off the table.

Washington is also one of the U.S. states in which real-money fantasy sports games are illegal.

In November 2017, SB 5169, which sought to regulate fantasy sports, appeared in legislation, but was shelved.

Daily fantasy sports remains illegal, and major DFS operators do not accept entries from Washington residents; no subsequent bill to fully legalize and regulate DFS has passed.

Washington continues to enforce its prohibition on unlicensed internet gambling, which has the practical effect of blocking most real-money online gaming products, including online casino, poker, and paid fantasy sports contests.
