Online Gaming in West Virginia

In March 2019, the West Virginia Lottery Interactive Wager Act automatically became law when Gov. Jim Justice let the veto window pass. The law legalized online casino gambling in West Virginia, providing one license for each of West Virginia's five casinos.

In May 2018, the West Virginia Lottery Commission implemented regulations allowing for the launch of internet casino gaming and online poker. In July, DraftKings and BetMGM launched online casinos, followed by BetRivers. As of January 2022, six platforms were available in the state with Caesars Sportsbook and Casino, PointsBet Casino and FanDuel Casino launching, and that number could eventually rise to 15.
